Silent reflux and lactose or cmpa

My DS2 is 5 weeks tomorrow. At 4 weeks was diagnosed with silent reflux although mainly that was me telling the doctors that I believed it was that and they didn't tell me otherwise. But had been having symptomns for about two weeks before. My normal gp prescribed infant gaviscon & wanted us to give this 4 weeks to see if it made a difference. Friends had said they had no luck with it & the constipation was a problem so we decided to go and see a private pedeteictian who prescribed losec mups 10mg (on last weighing he was 10lb 4oz). At first we thought we had seen an improvement. He would usually cry all evening long and only go to sleep when he had worn himself out and the daytime was no better never being able to put him down. This did improve initially without him crying & being unsettled 24 hours a day.
We are now feeling that things are getting worse. All day he is crying on and off. He is not fussed for a bottle and will take about two hours on and off to drink a bottle of 4oz which he rarely finishes.
At night we have raised his Moses basket but he wakes Crying and making some awful noises like he's choking and wheezing. Then we are finding it soo hard to get him back to sleep. In the day he will fall asleep for about 20 mins and then wake up in pain.
I know that it's only been 5 days but was soo hopeful that things would get better.
I am now concerned that there is either a lactose intolerance or cmpa because he is having a poo every time the bottle is given to him and it is streaked with green stringy mucus.
What is the difference between the intolerance and cmpa?
We were given ranitidine by a private GP but decided to try the losec first, I have read that this and Omeprazole can be taken together has anyone found that this works better?
I hate reflux soo much I feel like we have missed out on enjoying the newborn stage of what will be our last baby and all we feel is stressed and anxious for the poor little man being in pain! Plus our DS1 is really missing out on time with us and being a family.

Yes you can have ranitidine and gavsicon and omeprazole together. Gavsicon does just thicken everything which is why you get constipation.

Lactose is an intolerance to the sugars in milk and is actually quite rare. A cows milk protein allergy is exactly that, an allergy to the protein in milk. There are special formulas for both. Hydrolysed formulas such as nutramigen or aptamil pepti where the protein is broken down so it's easier to digest and there's formula such as neocate and nutramigen AA which is amino acid based so totally milk free.

My ds was still allergic to the hydrolysed formula so we had neocate. But it took a while to get as we were fobbed off by our GP several times. We did get referred to an allergy consultant who was brilliant.
