UTI not being treated

So annoyed with my GP at the moment. My daughter has symptoms of a UTI and went to the surgery last week about it. The GP agreed it sounded like a UTI but wanted to do a urine test before treating, which I had no issue with. So we did a test and due to the weekend it took until Monday to get the results. It came back abnormal and the GP had requested that if her symptoms had not settled to do another test. Surely if the symptoms have not eased you would treat it. We did another test on Monday afternoon and up until yesterday afternoon the results were not back, and if they are not back today we'll again have to wait until after the weekend.
If they are not back today would you demand the GP treat it without the results, as my daughters symptoms are still there?

Yes she keeps saying her tummy hurts, bless her. She is drinking more this last day or so though and her wee doesn't smell as bad as it did.
Just rung and they haven't come back, but have to ring back this afternoon.

my dd ended up in hospital having iv antibiotics with an untreated uti. if she has a persistent temperature then insist on a broad spectrum antibiotic being started immediately. they can switch it when they get specific test results.

I ended up having to get the GP to chase the lab for the results and she has a urine infection. She's been on amoxicillin since Monday. Not sure if it's clearing or not though. Would you get her to do another test after she has finished her medication to check if it's cleared up?

ooops have name changed since OP. Blush

if the symptoms haven't improved after 48hours on antibiotics then gp should be concerned she's on the right ones. the original test results should be checked to see if the uti is sensitive to amoxicillin, if she's 4days into a course and no improvement sge probably needs something different like co-amoxiclav or trimethoprim. is she having temperatures? is her urine cloudy/smelly? is she complaoning of burning when passing urine?
