Single spot failed tumbler test, baby has cough but otherwise seems well. Should I panic?

As I was changing my 9 week old for bed this evening I noticed a red spot on the sole of his foot. I wasn't really concerned but out of the habitual paranoia of a new mum I did the tumbler test on it and the red spot didn't go away.
I checked him all over and found no other spots. No temperature and he's been cheery all eve.
He does have a nasty dry cough that started this morning but is otherwise fine. Had first jabs yesterday and was miserable all day but woke up his usual happy self this morning. He has been doing small pukes after feeding but nothing out of the ordinary.
So what should I do? Just keep an eye? Or panic?

At only 9 weeks you should seek medical advice, no one will say you're wasting their time, chances are it's nothing but the tiny chance that something is wrong means you should get it checked out.

Husband thinks I'm just being paranoid. Have checked meningitus symptoms and not displaying any others at all. Two hours since I found the spot and no more have appeared. I'm checking him hourly all over. Hoping we are ok through the night and docs first thing in the am. If anything else at all happened off to a&e.
Does this sound like a sensible course of action?

No one's going to slate you for going to A&E but I wouldn't with no other symptoms. Spots are fairly late on in the scheme of meningitis and with no other signs it is most likely just a slight knock he's got.

Ds got his first viral rash at 10 weeks, which was bruise like rash all down both his legs. Luckily for me I was at an event with the local GP (parent of a child in dd1's class) and she checked him over there and said it wasn't worth going to A&E but come into the surgery on Monday and she'd refer him for a blood test at paeds to rule out any blood disorders.

My son had some of these, they went away on thier own.

Another dc had a proper worrying rash that failed tumbler test, this turned out to be serious, but not meningitis.

If you baby had menigitus I would expect it to be seriously unwell.

Do you hold him by his body and allow him to stand and hold his own weight on his feet, I thought that might have caused the marks on my son.

That was my thinking, he seemed too well for it to be that. He's still cheery and no more spots but has a GP appointment anyway. Was just scary to discover in the middle of the night. I didn't want to sleep in case he suddenly started to feel poorly. New mum anxiety over here clearly!
