Calpol & neurofen - help!

I've been a right idiot and given dd whose 7mo 5ml of calpol and 2.5ml of neurofen just about an hour apart. I genuinely thought it had been well over 2 hours. Will she b ok? She's teething horrendously and has been crying in pain all afternoon. She's a big girl at 20 lbs and has eaten a good meal plus bf before bed. She's sleeping soundly right now (unsurprisingly) dh is saying not to worry, but I feel terrible

I don't see the problem because you can give both and you've spread them a little bit apart, bit personally if you're worried id give nhs 24 a quick call and one of the nurses will put your mind at ease!

it's fine they are not the same and are safe together.
nurofen is three doses in 24 hours and calpol is four doses so just spread them out over 24 hours, but the first dose can be taken at the same time

I thought it was ok to give both at the same tine and they are not both paracetamol based ... The idea around staggering is you can give pain relief every 2 hours not 4 (if you gave both at once)

Thank you! I knew about the every 2 hours thing, but was a bit panicked about it being barely an hour between - let's hope she has a comfortable stretch of sleep as a result after a really terrible day

They're different medicines from different pain relief groups. They are fine to give both together, if you feel like it. However it's more effective to give separately. Don't worry, she'll be absolutely fine.

it is best to spread them apart a bit more purely to keep the relief topped up but they can be taken at the same time

calpol is paracetamol and neurofen is an anti inflammatory ....two different groups of meds
