Tonsillitis help please

Hi, 12 days ago I noticed DS had swollen tonsils with white pus present but no temperature and apparently no pain (he's 3 but was still eating and drinking ok). I took him to the doctor 7 days ago and was given a script for penicillin V to hold on to. On the pharmacists advice I cashed this 3 days ago as still no change. DS still has pus on tonsils and is def under the weather although temp OK.
Can anyone tell me whether this is normal and how long it takes for the antibiotics to shift the pus?

Longer than 3 days. I just had tonsillitis and has anti bs and it took nearly two weeks.

What you need is high streghth vitamin c, from Holland and Barrett, or failing that sambucol. Vit c and zinc.

It takes a while. I'm usually 48 hours before I feel the ABs even starting to work.
