Any ideas please what this rash could be?

DS age 3 woke up like this on Sunday. He is not unwell and it doesn't seem to bother him

I thought it was a rash from his swimming lesson floatation belt (tied on with string!) but it's not getting any better

It looks like herpes!

Could it be shingles? Is it just round one side?

We've got anti virals. I'm having to cram 4 doses into 12 hours so giving 3 hourly rather than 4 and he's got diarrhoea already poor little thing
