DS is really upset about his lip - how long til it heals?

He had an accident while out playing and he was really sad, thinking his lip looks awful. It's been caught and has a sort of lumpy dead skin bit which I assume is like a scab/cut on normal skin. How long do lips take usually? I've iced it, given neurofen for swelling and he's been asleep fine.

Lips have a good blood supply so tend to look worse initally but heal well because of it.

Mind you - I'm an accountant!

Thank you though, that's quite good isn't it - he was really stressed by the lumpy dead bit.
