Frequent urination in a 3 year old

Would it be normal for a 3 nearly 4 year old to urinate 10 to 15 times in 8 hours? This is an everyday thing with my niece and is causing some problems with potty training. However i am concerned it may be indicative of a heath problem? Has anyone had any experience of frequent urination in a child of this age?

Increased thirst and frequent urination can be one of the signs of Type 1 diabetes (a friend's dc was diagnosed age 5) so it might be a good idea to go to the doctor just to make sure.

Are they potty training? My DD did this once we started potty training. Things settled down once the novelty wore off Smile

Thanks for the replies. They have been potty training for a year now. Diabetes was my concern too. I feel once they sort out the fequency potty training will be much easier. I will urge them to go back to the doctors. They only talked about accidents before not the amount if wees she was having a day
