Dd2 has eczema with blister like spots! (Sorry long)

Just as the title says really, my dd2(5) has suffered with mild eczema on and off since being a baby. Several months ago a change in washing powder caused a flair up mainly between her legs and on her bottom. This is a lot better than it was but the patches that are left have spots that look like a cross between a skin tag and a blister in them.
I have been to the doctor several times and to be honest I'm loosing faith, every time we go they tell me something different and prescribe a different cream but as fast as these spots go from one place they appear in another.
My daughter is now refusing to wear underwear as it makes the spots bleed and it is very obviously painful to her!
I'm really at my wits end trying to help her and the doctor won't refer her to anyone but doesn't seem to know what it is himself . Any advice at all would be very gratefully received

Didn't want to read and run. Have you tried asking your pharmacist? I'm new to the nightmare that is eczema but found my pharmacist took longer to offer advice than my gp. The gp gave us a steroid cream to treat flare ups but the pharmacist gave much more practical advice to prevent them in the first place.

Have you asked for a referral to a dermatologist. DS2 has eczema, he's only 6 months so I'm hopeful he will grow out of it. Currently managing his with E45 itch relief cream, prescribed hydrocortisone in small amounts on the more resistent patches and making sure it all remains clean.

I know that if this is the worst he experiences health wise I will still be extremely lucky but it isn't half a pain in the hole!

Thank you both for your replies. I've spoken to a pharmacist but although she was very helpful due to the positioning of the actual spots she couldn't really look at them so couldn't offer much advice.
So far we've had several different steroid creams, oral antibiotics, antibiotic creams, dermol 500 to wash with and aveeno cream and wash!
My doctor doesn't think it warrants a referral as it's not widespread on her body! Last time we saw him he was talking about the embarrassment of scars, my daughter said she wasn't worried about scars as people don't look in her knickers .

Sorry that is a bit jumbled! I agree if it's the worst health problem she has I will be very grateful but it isn't half a pain

I have suffered from eczema since i was a baby. I often get the little blisters as you have described, usually after a period of intense scratching. I think its the skins way of protecting. Do not allow them to be burst no matter how tempting!

There is no hard and fast rule that works for everyone,however things that have worked for me you could try

Anti histamines when ever a flare up
Coat blistered skin in sudocream and bandage up overnight. Savlon also works for me

Dead sea salt baths

Cut out dairy

Hoovering bed and carpets daily

Sunbeds (probably not for children at all, nor should i even use them,but really clears my skin up)

Oat bath (oats in a muslin cloth in a warm bath)

Daily moisturising day and night with aveeno or e45

Steroid cream when a bad flare up

Hopefully you can find a solution

This sounds similar to the eczema I have on my feet. I use dd's happy rash cream on it and it's really helping. It's the Weleda Calendula nappy cream. I know it's strange but may be worth a try.

Could it be Molluscum Contagiosum? (If you type that into google, pictures of it will come up - often the "blisters" have a tiny dimple in the centre.) If so, it's harmless, but may take months to resolve. If a child is prone to eczema, he/she may get a flare up of eczema around the MC lesions.

We have started using the Dead Sea salt in the bath and it seems to be helping.
Think I will have to look into some kind of bandage if only to stop her knicker elastic rubbing on the spots.
