in 2.5 year old. Had calpol at 8am, hasn't done anything. He's eaten a little and is drinking ok, very lethargic though. Breathing a bit shallow.

Should I try neurofen or call GP?

Don't know how he is but ring doctor. Less the temp per se but the lethargy and shallow breathing with it. Nb I am not a medic.

Hi ancient thanks for reply, sorry I've only just seen it!

I did call the GP and he sent us straight to hospital, they diagnosed an ear infection and kept him there for the day until his temp and breathing went back to normal. He burned up all over the weekend but is much better now.

I'm so glad you did.

DS was so ill do much of the time I became the world's expert on fevers, and the trick us yo see if they are lively in themselves. If not, go straight to Dr/ a&e.
Hope you and he now fully recovered.
