Grumbling appendix? Or something else

Long story but would appreciate perspective/advice/any thoughts at all

DS (9) was admitted to hospital 2 weeks ago with what they thought was appendicitis. Central pain, moving to right side. Raised CRP for medics out there. Vomiting lots, not eating.

He was listed for surgery the next morning, which they cancelled due to thinking it wasn't appendicitis, rather gastro bug. They did a scan but couldn't see appendix. He was in for 3 days before discharge.

Not right for next ten days, then gets re admitted due to dehydration because of vomiting and lots of abdo pain. Another scan and they can't see appendix again. We see a surgeon who says, thinks it was appendicitis 10 days previously, but it has cleared up mostly but left scarring/area of inflammation. Removing appendix will just cause more scarring and more pain.

Discharged after 4 days.

I'm really unhappy with this. He's a lot better but doesn't seem quite "right", and still has sporadic pain, though nowhere near as bad as it was.

We're not in UK. Any thoughts and what to do/push for? Thank you.
