Son having operation - panicking

Hey,

I have a 3 year old who is having an operation next week for something that will hopefully only take 20-30 minutes. Since having my son, I have generally been a very emotional person and I worry all the time, so i'm probably (definitely) over reacting. But each day that the operation day gets closer, I panic more and more. I have been in tears several times already :/ !!
The worst thought, is passing my nerves onto my son. The last thing I want is him to be scared on the day because I cant hold it together, in fear that something bad will happen.
I just don't know how to calm my nerves or the best way to make my son feel at ease while I am panicking inside. If anyone has any tips, I would be very greatful x

First of all you have to tell yourself you WILL hold it together. He might get a bit upset anyways but you need to not let him see you're worried.

Paediatrics are brilliant ime and it isn't like going into an adult ward - do you get to visit first?

He'll be fine honestly.
