Itchy skin in 5 year old

My DD's skin seems to flare up and get itchy. She is mainly scratching her legs at the moment. I have tried oliatum but this seems to make it more itchy temporarily. What else could I try please. I don't think it is eczema but I'm not sure - there are no patches on knees or elbows

Oilatum can cause the skin to be more itchy. Try bathing in plain water, make sure you pat the skin dry. Keep moisturising the itchy area, it's a case of trial and error as to which one works for your DC. We use Aveeno as that works best and DD finds it not to greasy. If this doesn't help then you may need to go to the GP to get some steroid creams to stop the flare up. Good luck!

Could it be impetigo? My DD caught this from the school floor - passed on by another child. The Dr said this can easily happen. Take her to see a Dr to get the correct cream.
