Chicken pox

Hi, daughter has a patch of 5-6 small blister filled red spots on her thigh. They started this morning as little red bumps and by this evening they are yellowy and filled. She had a cold just over a week ago. I thought chickenpox so phoned surgery to ask if I could email a picture rather than bring her in as if it was it is contagious. However, Dr saw her and said he didn't think it could be chickenpox because that always starts on the torso.

Anyway long story short, is this your experience? Obviously it is over 20 years since I had chickenpox so I can't remember! I couldn't see anything on the NHS that said it always started on the torso.

Thank you in advance for your experiences

my dds chicken pox started on her back. my friend's dd had an odd rash on her leg which they wondered was chicken pox turned out to be impetigo, which is much more common on the face as that's where kids tend to touch most and spread the infection to. what did gp think it was?
