Spotty eczema help please.

My DS 3, 3.9, has suffered with eczema since he was a baby and we've never really got it under control.

His skin doesn't feel or look dry though we do moisturise thoroughly twice daily with cetraben cream or hydromol ointment.

He has lots of spots that he scratches and they bleed - his bed sheets are often covered in blood and a fair few people thought he had chicken pox when he wore a t shirt out recently.

His arms and legs are his spottiest part though he has more conventional looking eczema patches at his wrists and backs of knees that respond to steroid cream (though come back when we stop)

The spots don't seem to respond to anything though! We've tired hydrocortisone, eumovate, modrazone and another steroid which name escapes me right now.

He's allergic to dairy and egg so his diet is free from them, and his east test was negative to soya.

Does anyone have any idea how to treat this spotty kind of eczema? It's been going on for months if not years so its not some random spotty virus, and it doesn't look like molloscum, or discoid eczema.

Any words of wisdom or product recommendations gratefully received. Thanks

My DDs have eczema and I find Aveeno very good.
One is also diary/soya/egg/gluten intolerant and if she has any of those it flares her eczema. Now using probiotics and natural remedies for her stomach which are helping the eczema too.

Do you see a dermatologist?

We have seen a dermatologist in the past though not recently. Might have to get referred again as I presume we were discharged.

Thanks for the Aveeno recommendation. I've used it on my other children but not on this one iirc so I might give it a go.
