Hi all,
I'm really panicking here. DS 5 months old has woken up and there is bloody all over the mattress that has come from his ear. Is this a perforated ear drum? What do I do?!

Go to a&e now. Better to be safe than sorry with young baby.

Btw if perforated ear drum it will heal - just get it checked out.

Take him to a and e. Take a photo of the blood with you so they can see the colour/amount.

How is baby??

CheeseDreams · 12/04/2015 20:04

He is fine, thank you. He has a perferated ear drum. They checked him over and said his throat looks sore and glands are up too. He's been given a course of antibiotic and just need to keep him dosed up on calpol for a bit.

It explains why he's been so grumpy the last few days. Feel terribly guilty that I didn't know (I know there's no way I could have known, but I guess guilt come with the territory when you're a mum!)

Thank you x

Glad you are both ok .

Don't feel guilty OP-how were you to know? (I felt bad when it happened to my own DS though!) Just one thought-if he is due any jags soon, speak to GP first as they might postpone til he feels 100%-only for a week or so (this, too, happened with my ds)
Good you acted so swiftly & your baby is ok.
