A weird and unheard of subject I know but one that affects my eldest son. At various odd times his hands sweat badly, dripping off the end of his fingers sometimes, so he can''t even hold a pen or pencil. Which kind of makes school work impossible! We've tried every over the counter and prescribed medication possible, but some have made it worse or his skin has suffered a back reation. His school have been AMAZING with class notes being emailed home, options for me to type his work while he learns to type, but sweating hands and a key board are another bad combo. It does get him very down sometimes and like any Mum I want to get it sorted out! we've been to see a dermatologist who said as he goes through puberty it may get better or worse, or stay the same. So the botox option or surgery won't be considered until his late teens, not that I'd be happy with either!

So I contacted a www.iontocentre.com/ who were featured on Embarrasing Bodies and they agreed to let me have a machine to trial. We've started this week with the Hidrex PSP 1000 where you part sumberge your hands in two trays of water and pass a small electrical charge through the water. My son says it feels like very mild pins and needles, with only 15 minutes a day needed, he sits and stares at the TV and it's over and done with before you know it.

I am keeping everything crossed this works! I am going to blog about it here mumsnetcheshireblog.wordpress.com/

A friend had this problem when we were at school. It was awful for her confidence and she ended up having the operation. I really hope this works for your son!
