DS has Pityriasis alba

He has been having Pityriasis alba on his face for more than two years. We use good creams to moisturise the spots and I have also bought a high factor sun protection cream. It is written it should last for a few months and then disappear. The patches look like raised sand paper circles. Very tiny little rough pin like spikes. The patches are lighter than the rest of the skin.
No idea what to treat with to get rid of it.
Thank you.

Have you seen a dermatologist? Or just the GP?

Mika27 · 08/04/2015 20:22

Hi MrsFlanner. Excuse me for my late response. We saw a GP only and she did not refer to the dermatologist. I am about to make an eppointment and ask for a referral. Thank you.
We have been using anti dandruff shampoo for two days (suggested somewhere on the web). Really hope it will help but for now we will wait and see.
