Ongoing stomach ache

Hello! My 5yo is usually healthy, pretty happy most of the time, loves school from what I can tell. She is a little anxious sometimes, but very similar to me in nature. For the past few weeks, every day she complains of a stomach ache and not feeling well, pointing to her belly button. Have taken her to the docs a couple of times, and they can't find anything the matter and she still goes to school/activities fine (although she also tells the teachers she's not feeling well). I'm not sure what to do - I've tried ignoring it to see if she brings it up without prompting, which she does. I've asked her if things are bothering her at school, which she seems OK with. I obviously don't want to miss something serious, but I don't know whether to go back to the docs again, when it seems as though all is well. I don't know whether to be sympathetic or tell her to snap out of it. Any advice would be gratefully received

I bet she has butterflies in her tummy, but doesn't recognise the feeling. My dd used to get this, but doesn't any more. She used to get it before school, but never in the holidays. There was nothing wrong at school, i don't think, just a bit of separation anxiety which she was bravely dealing with!

I would wait and see what she says over the holidays, if the pain suddenly disappears then school could be the answer.

What is she like of a weekend?

She can be much the same - she'll be racing around, then suddenly 'oh mummy I don't feel well' - but it feels to me like it's becoming more of a habit. We are away with another family with a girl the same age next week, so I will see what's mentioned then, when she's too busy having an amazing time.

She seems completely fine, I just worry that I am missing something obvious because it keeps coming up.

Thanks Janek - butterflies sounds like a potential, particularly as she is a little quiet and anxious sometimes (just like I am)!
