Hi, not sure if anyone can help, but does anyone know how many weeks we need to wait for a pediatric appointment?

My dd (9) has a very sore foot and the gp has put through a referral for possibly some physio.

Think is she is in so much pain she is getting a little desperate!!

It varies from area to area and hospital to hospital. NHS aims to see everyone within 18 weeks but often fails this in my area. DS had to wait 4 months for his first appointment last year. His follow up was meant to be 6 months later but he ended up waiting 9 months and i had to chase it up otherwise he would have waited longer! The current wait for new appointments is now 6 months because 2 consultants have left.

Your GP should know the average wait in your area it might be worth ringing and asking the surgery (only if you have a nice gp receptionist though!).
You could also ring the hospital and put your name down for a cancellation as this can get you in quicker if you're prepared to drop everything and attend at short notice.

Has she been referred to paediatrics or physiotherapy? Confused

Waiting time vary hugely from area to area. Your GP may well not know (we don't get info about waiting lists any more Hmm) but have a 'referral management' tel nr that patients can ring and find out where they stand.
Have you asked your GP?
