Labial Adhesions- any experience?

Both my girls (10 months and 36 months) have been diagnosed with adhesions.

My older daughter has had several UTI's and now has kidney scarring. Hers have responded well to using creams to separate. My baby however has such thick adhesions they want to operate as soon as she is 1 to avoid her getting repeat UTIs

Has anyone's LO had the operation Was the surgery painful? It's difficult to talk about as no one has ever heard of (or Wants to talk about it) despite it being common (so I'm told). Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear about your DD. My DD had partial labial fusing from birth, which resolved with some estrogen cream. You're right, no one talks about the problem- I didn't even know what it was and didn't know she had it until she got sore down there and I took her to the doctors when she was about 3. She wasn't having UTI's then, but she's nearly 6 now and for a couple of years or more has had them quite frequently! I wonder if it could be a lingering affect?

I hope your LO is OK and gets over the surgery quickly and painlessly!
xx

My dad had this, only found out when she needed an MCUG after kidney infection. We were never prescribed anything, I think the broke the adhesions, it was 15 yrs ago.
