4.5 dd sensitive to noise

and it seems to be getting worse, she now doesn't want to go to nursery as it's too noisy.

I remember reading on mn about a possible diagnosis, but can't find the post anymore, so can't find the name of it

she has had her ears and hearing checked but there were no problems. nursery are going to ask the school nurse to see if there is anything I can say to our GP to get any additional checks done

any ideas anyone?

she hates loud screaming, loud tube and train journeys, hair dryers, hand air dryers, hoovers etc, fire engines, ambulance police sirens etc.

? sensory processing disorder.

Maybe ask Gp to refer to OT as I think they are best placed to diagnose.

Hyperacousis is a possibility, especially if the noises are painful for her.

(It is pretty rare as far as I know, but she has my sympathy if that's what it is...they can't always find a cause and treatment doesn't always work)
