Itchy tongue

Nannyplum2015 · 15/03/2015 19:18

My daughter is slightly I'll at the moment just recovering from tonsillitis. However her tongue is now red and itchy and has tiny bumps on her tongue that look like tiny blisters (like swollen taste buds). They feel rough like sandpaper. It's not swollen but can't find any info on Google. She's not eaten anything new either so I doubt it's an allergy.

Any ideas?

Foot & mouth or first outbreak of coldsores/herpes Sad?

I am recovering from flu and my tongue is the same, I've just put it down to mouth breathing and being a bit dehydrated

She's really prone to mouth ulcers but they don't look like ulcers. They are tiny more like a rash. Tbh they look like her taste buds have swollen.

Maybe it's all part of the same virus. She's annoyed though and won't eat!

I don't think it's cold sore or hand foot and mouth, ime both are much more actual blisters and are all over mouth. Fwiw I've ulcers too, I assume from being run diwn
