Baby acne

My daughter is eight weeks old and about two weeks ago she started to get a rash on her face I took her to the doctor who said it was eczema and prescribed me some cream for it this didn't help and it started to spread to her chest so I took her to the doctor again today who told me it was baby acne and there was nothing I could do for it I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this with there babies how long it lasted for and if they found anything the helped it go. The doc said it won't be causing her any pain but it is very red and looks very sore.

Both mine got horrendous baby acne on face neck and chest from about 6-10 weeks. Soon starts to go and doesn't need treating - it's because they were exposed to huge amount of pregnancy hormones via the placenta, then as they start to clear them from their systems it's a bug hormonal change and the skin breaks out. It's fine and will go :)

Okay thankyou the doctor didn't really explain what had caused it didn't no if there was something I could do to stop it as in changing washing powder or something I had never heard of it before don't no anyone else's baby who's had it. How long did it take for your babies to clear Smile

this was our dip into diary free....still gets rash with dairy at 2.5 years! si we don't do it often!

I think my ds (9 weeks) has this. It started around 3 weeks and he still has it. I'm noe experimenting with dairy free (bf) to see if it makes a difference. Not noticed anything yet. I'm hooing it will start clearing up soon. My other two had the normal milk rashes but this seems much worse.

I used a mustela topic cream/moisturiser on my three week old twice a day and 2/3 days later completely gone ! Was like a miracle cure !

Is your baby formula fed or beast fed?
And is he or she settled?

Are you sure the acne isn't actually hives, and a reaction to dairy?

She bottle feeds she is very settled but she is quiet sickly. The rash seems to be clearing on it's own she looks much better now thanks everyone xx
