Hi since 8am my daughters only been awake for about 3 hours. She's absolutely exhausted, can't stay awake. She's had some food and drink but not much. Should I just let her sleep?

I might add that she is teething quite badly as well.

Is this very sudden? How was she yesterday?

0ddsocks · 12/03/2015 14:39

Fever?

theollys23 · 12/03/2015 14:53

She was absolutely fine yesterday. Nope her temperature is 34.7

How are you taking that temperature? 34.7 is hypothermic and would mean you need to get her warmed up asap with skin to skin, hot water bottles and wrapping in lots of blankets whilst seeking immediate medical attention.

theollys23 · 12/03/2015 15:06

It's a neurophen digital ear one. Really? :/ she's very warm to touch. Could the thermometer be wrong?

Yes, those ear thermometers are not completely accurate. I'd take temp again - in both ears this time to see if there is a difference.

jimijack · 12/03/2015 15:09

Thermometer is wrong, ignore.
Is the skn on her chest normal/warm?
Has she had wet nappies this afternoon?
Can you wake her easily?

If yes to all these, leave her be, give fluids.
Give calpol if she is in pain with her teeth.

jimijack · 12/03/2015 15:11

Make sure there is no dirt or debris on the ear thermometer, check the batteries, check it in your ear.
34 degrees is hypothermic, she would not be reusable/blue tinge to skin, very cold to touch.

SirVixofVixHall · 12/03/2015 15:13

I would get a baby that sleepy checked out tbh. Call the GP, I think they would want to see her.

theollys23 · 12/03/2015 15:23

Yeah her chest is warm and she wakes as soon as I say her name. And have had wet nappies.
Tested the thermometer in my ear and says 34.7 also.

She's awake now and playing.
I'll keep an eye on her and go to the doctor if anything changes.
Thank you all
