Sickness bug lasting 5 days!!

I have a 4 year old, who woke up one last week with a bug and he was sick through the night. By the morning he was sick then it stopped for the rest of the day and the next day but was sick just once the third night. Went back to nursery today as it had been 48 hours since last sickness, thought he was ok but had a phone call to say he'd just been sick - 5 days after he first had it.

It's strange, as he he'd been eating & drinking and not bringing anything back up for 2 and a half days before going back to nursery so assumed he would be fine. No school until at least Friday now!

He's had no diarrhea.

There has been several cases of chicken pox in the area the last week or so, could the sickness be the start of it?

Could be rotavirus - that seems to come and go.

Or it could be chickenpox.... that's hard to tell as some do get poorly before the spots outbreak and some don't.

I think I would remove as much dairy as possible from their diet for a few weeks as it can irritate tummies that have been poorly.
