ds2 (3.9) came home from nursery last Wednesday night with a limp - not massively obvious. No history of any injury and he's otherwise well in himself, it hasn't really affected his activities.
I saw my GP on Thursday who thought it was transient synovitis & it would clear up on it's own within a couple of weeks. Three years ago dd2 (now nearly 6) was diagnosed with the same thing although she had much more pain & exaggerated limp - she ended up in hospital having some tests done that suggested she might have leukaemia. She didn't but it was incredibly scary - given that history the GP referred ds to the paed clinic (to reassure me) ... unfortunately the appointment is not until May & I'm not dealing with the worry very well.
It will be a week tomorrow - sometimes the limp seems better sometimes not. He's particularly bad in the morning & says his knee hurts when he stands up from sitting sometimes (this is very typical apparently). I'm really not sure what to do - the GP said bring him back if he seems unwell (which he doesn't), or gets a fever, swollen joint etc - but I'm not sure what to do about the limp. If it was consistently getting better I'd be less worried
