enlarged cervical lympth nodes

my 5 yr old has had enlarged cervical lymph nodes on the right side of his neck for no apparent reason after months of going back to the doctors he has finally been sent for blood tests im now awaiting the results im worrying myself silly what the results are going to tell me.has anyone elses child had enlarged lympth nodes???

I think you're worrying for nothing. Kids very often have raised glands. My GP says that it's because their immune system is immature.

One of mine had an enlarged node in their neck for months on end. At least 6 months. GP said it was nothing but he did check it a few times. I think as long as they are soft and mobile they are fine ?

Another GP told me that if they went into a classroom and checked each child that at least one in three would have swollen glands.

Please try not to worry. Am sure your doc was reluctant to do blood tests because in the absence of other symptoms it is unlikely there is anything wrong with your child.
