Swollen neck glands

DD is 7yrs old and has swollen glands on each side of her neck. They are quite large, about 50p sized, and she isn't ill and hasn't been ill recently either.

Obviously I've googled (!) and am now terrified :(

She's absolutely fine in herself (a good thing, no?) but has been so tired lately (not a good thing).

Should I wait and see if an infection develops over the next couple of days or get her a gp appt sooner? My anxiety has gone into overdrive and I don't feel I can make a rational decision :(

Get an appointment sooner

I'd probably wait until Wednesday and see if she's come down with something and if not take her to the GP

Thank you for the replies.

She did mention just before bed last night that her throat was a little sore so I'm hoping it's just the start of an infection. However, if nothing develops then I'll make an appt for tomorrow with the gp.

My dd has this at New Years, her lymph node measured 8cm at its largest. The Gp sent her to hospital as was concerned about it along with other issues. The pead consultant felt it, because it was mobile and smooth he wasn't overly worried although he screened her for other things as a backup. She had glandular fever which resulted in a benign responsive lymph node. Defo get it checked out
