Adult teeth coming through aged 3 - any experience?

Took DS to the dentist today. Apparently he has all of his milk teeth but also an adult molar is starting to push through at the back.
The dentist didn't say too much about it and I didn't think of any questions at the time but now I'm worried it's a sign of something more sinister.
Anyone have any experience of this?

yes my ds was this age. don't worry, he's now got 2 of his second molars at 8. ( they normally come through 10-14 )
I could be a supernumary ( an extra tooth) I've seen this too. bur don't worry just keep it clean!

Phew!
Yes keeping it clean will be a challenge, he hates brushing!
