Food after vom bug

Hi all
DD was vomming in the night and is now asking for food. She hasn't had an episode for 5 hours now. Do I give her a bit of toast?
Thanks

There's the BRAT diet: bananas, rice, apples, toast. Avoid dairy until she's 100% better. But toast is fine.

Thanks - will take a chance

Agree with above advice. My 5 year old always sensitive to milk for some days. Really gives him, what he calls 'a sloppy bottom'. Apt phrase!
Water based ice lollies great too.

The advice is to give whatever they want (within reason of course). There is no evidence to suggest that giving a bland diet will shorten an illness or prevent a reoccurrence of vomiting. Give her whatever she is asking for.

My oldest always wants raw carrot and salt and vinegar crisps after being sick.

Don't worry if anything comes back up or think you have to restrict food. Feed if hungry, plenty of fluids and I hope she's better soon. We've just had it here. Miserable it is.

Thanks for all the advice - banana and toast have stayed down so far. Just hoping no one else gets it now..
