Hi,

My daughter is 10 months old and since last Saturday she has had foul diarrhea everyday up to 4 times a day.
She's just getting over a cold and just had a new tooth and other than that she's her normal self smiling happy to play but a little clingy at times.
We took her to the doctors on thurs and doc said she was ok it will pass and prescribed some dioralyte for her.

She's not been eating much at all but yesterday she was a bit more interested in food so we tried toast and breadsticks and rice cakes throughout the day. She still has her formula milk though as she will not sleep without it and provides comfort although I know milk will not help her tummy.

What is it? None of us are I'll too I'm sure we would have caught it by now if it was a virus and it seems to be going on too long.
I'm getting worried it's never going to get better please help x

My 5.5mo has had bad d&v for a similar amount of time, in our case it was a bug as dh, dsis and I all went down with it. We've been told to stick to formula, dioralyte and one doc recommended flat lemonade! Dsis works in A&E and mentioned this to the peas reg and he was horrified!

Our main problem is dd is tiny - just below the 8th centile so doesn't have much to loose.

I'd just bug the doctors, make an appointment for tomorrow. We've had loads of contradictory advice, which hasn't made it any easier!

Oh, and 111 said it could last 2 weeks.

But they also wrote that I'd gives dd too much paracetamol after I told them she had a sunken fontanelle, so I'm not taking their word for it...
