Child Health MOT?

I'm always anxious about DCs' health. I know my GP won't take it seriously, so is there any company that does general health checks for children, including iron levels, calcium, kidney function etc, etc.

Thanks

I'm sure there are, but do you really want to put your children through having a blood test just because of your anxiety?

ohmychrist · 21/02/2015 13:42

Yes, I think they'd be fine with it. Sounds bizarre though, I know.

Agree with bigdisco

You also risk passing your health anxieties on to your children if you but them through unnecessary tests etc

IMO you need to address your anxieties rather than letting them get the better of you

My ds (22 months) had to have blood tests done and it was so traumatic, certainly not something I would choose to put him.or me through unless necessary which his was.

I totally get your anxious but unless they are showing any symptoms surely that puts.your mind at rest?

You are being really unfair. Your anxiety is not a reason to be giving them unnecessary health checks. The reassurance would only be temporary anyways so it'd be pointless.

Look and your own health and get help.

You need to deal with your health anxieties rather than put your DC through unnecessary painful tests. And if the blood tests are fine, what next? You'll be thinking of something else and it will just go on and on. It's not fair.

I share your anxiety and I know how hard it is when you're worried about your little ones. Is there a reason for you to be worried? Has your child got something wrong in particular? My four year old has just had blood tests and was horrendous and wouldn't put her through it unless necessary.
Children who are seriously ill tend to show it so even if you had tests now who's to say you wouldn't want to do it again in a year? X
