DD1, 6 next week, has had a cough for the last few weeks, and has been a bit tired. I think a combination of coughing at night, end of term and also started a new after school activity.
We have been off this week for half term, and we've kept it fairly quiet. She has been more emotional than usual. So far, so normal for a virus that is dragging on.
She has a low grade temp now, and is not very hungry. She is drinking. Very lethargic but improves when calpol kicks in.
Here's the thing...I've just counted her rspiratory rate, and normal for her age is 25-30/minute. Hers is 47/minute.
Should I be taking her to OOH or just keeping up with calpol and fluids? I'm generally quite laid back when it comes to usual childhood illnesses, but by the same token I don't want to be too blasé either!
Any advice greatly appreciated.
