Any ideas on DS2's eyes?

He's 11yo.

It's like he's wearing very bright red, slightly flaky eyeliner, just a line around the very rim of his eyes, top and bottom lids.

He says it's sore and a bit itchy but I don't think it's too bad, he can get on with things once he's distracted.

The eyeballs themselves are fine, no redness and no crustiness like conjunctivitis.

I'd make an opticians appointment and get him seen. Blepharitis (sp?) infected eyelashes possibly.
Sore and itchy eyes isnt pleasant.

Sounds like blepharitis, my dh gets it so has to clean his eyelids every night.

Thank you. It was improved yesterday and much better today.

He was camping at the weekend so maybe something to do with being outdoors/wood smoke/not washing!

He needs to bathe his eyelids with a weak solution of baby shampoo and water. If he goes to optician or eye specialist that is all they will say at first anyway.
