10yo dd been coughing for hours

Any ideas how to help my dd? She's had a temperature (101 degrees) and very sore ear for last two days. She has also had some tightening of breathing and lots of coughing. She's used her sister's inhaler which has helped the coughing a bit. She has now been coughing pretty much non stop for 2 hours despite regular puffs from the inhaler. I've suggested she has a hot shower because I hoped the steam might help a bit. Any other ideas to stop the coughing?

Has she had paracetamol/ibuprofen for her temp? I find when dd is coughing it helps if she is cooler.
Run the shower and sit with her in the bathroom. Encourage her to breathe the steam.
Then prop her up in bed and don't let her get too warm.
How is her breathing? Is she struggling now still?
