Infected hangnail

hello my 2 week old dd has a sore looking hangnail , we carefully cut off the hangnail but it's still quite red and swollen with a little scabby bit forming at the side of the nail, it's improved since last night ( we cleaned it and put a little bit of sudocream on it and then out a clean sock in her hand) not sure if there's anything else we can do? Thinking about cleaning it with cooled boiled water and rubbing a little bit of breastmilk into it as I know that's good for all sorts of ailments. Midwife is coming on Monday but just want to make sure it doesn't get worse

At that age I would get her seen by a GP sooner than Monday for this. Finger infections can get quite nasty.

Sorry *on

Ended up going to the gp who said it should get better on its own but we have medicine just I case it gets worse. Panic over! I think I had my first first time mum freak out!

That's great. Am glad they could set mind at rest.
