Blood in stools 2 year old

My DD just did a poo in her potty and I noticed that it had some bright red blood mixed into it. I never noticed this before and she seems fine in herself (although she has developed some escema type rash on her hands and her bum cheeks over the last few days, which I put down to potty training - hand washing, accidents and the cold weather). Should I be worried?

it may not be anything to worry about given her nappy rash, but I have been told by drs who dd sees that you should always get it checked out if they have blood in their poo. DD never has but we get asked the question frequently so I assume it is important.
