Hi there,
Can anyone relate at all/help?
For the past month or so I'd say, my 5 year old son seems to constantly stretch out his fingers and play with his toes without seeming to realise. He also has a tendency to open his eyes really wide too. his eyes have been tested and they are perfect! Could it be a growing thing or something else perhaps!? I'm going to ask his teachers Monday if they've noticed anything but seeing if anyone else has experienced something similar :) thanks

Honestly, I think quite a lot of children do things like this as a response to their stressful lives. My eldest son twirled his hair constantly. One of my other sons picked everything that wasn't battened down on him. Another clicked his joints and still does.
Some of my children didn't do anything noticeably but they were calmer.

I wished they wouldn't do it as I didn't want them to be stressed, but now they are all adults, I just think it was their personalities. However I am not the most relaxed person so it is probably inherited.

They have all turned out well and have successful careers and nice partners. So I don't think that there is anything that you can do to stop them. In fact it may be too awful for them TO try and stop them.
