Getting back to full strength after Coeliac diagnosis

My daughter was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease last July (when 2 1/2) and has been strictly gluten free ever since. She is getting stronger and happier every day but still isn't up to "normal" strength for her age. I was expecting it to be a quicker recovery. How long did it take your toddlers to get back to full strength after going gluten free? I have heard it can take as long as a year.

I think a year is about right - she's got a lot of catching up to do! I was diagnosed as an adult, and it took a year for me to be really well again

I was diagnosed as an adult and it took about a year to get back to normal.

I was lactose and soy intolerant for about 9 months of that which made me feel more unwell than the coeliac disease! I also found GF bread, pasta, oats etc made me ill in the beginning too.
