What is wrong with 7yo DS?

He is very clingy and weepy, sleepy, bit of a temp, says his tummy is sore - but eating normally. Won't sleep in his own bed as 'I need you, mummy'. He's like this when he's coming down with something, but this has been going on too long to be an incubation period. HE says he's not worrying or anxious about anything. He also said today that his heart felt as though it was beating too fast. HELP - any ideas?

you should take him to your GP he may have the flu virus. from what your describing that's what it sounds like. fast heartbeat is usually a symptom of temp. keep him cool and hydrated.

My DD gets tummy ache when ever she is poorly, not just with a tummy bug. The GP said children have glands in their stomachs that help fight infection, just like the ones in your neck that get sore when fighting off a cold or something. Adults have them too obviously, but some children just have ones that make more of a nuisance - they grow out of it.
So the tummy ache may just be a sign of the body fighting some infection. Sounds like a basic virus to me. they can hang around for a while.
