9mo waking in middle of night

Hi all,

I hope someone has done suggestions as DD2 is causing both parents and DD1 a lot of problems at present.

Bedtime routine is pretty static (bath every other night due to dry skin), into night clothes, book and light play, bottle then bed.

She always settled well with a Dummy and her hands covered with mittens.

Anyhow, for the last month or so, she is waking in the middle of the night - usually between 1 and 3am after being put to bed about 8am. She does not self soothe, gets more and more wound up, until one of us goes to her. Some soothing, maybe Dummy and mittens on, and she'll sleep again - often not waking again until almost 7am.

However, the crying wakes us all including our 2yo.

Has anyone else experienced this, does it pass, do we need to change something or do something different?

TIA G

Teething. It's really not at all unusual for them to have episodes of night waking until they're 3...it's a pain...but it's normal at 9 months. Check her gums and maybe offer a bit of calpol.
