Ds age 5 with a 'sore willy'

My ds, just 5, said this eve that he has a sore willy. It doesn't look red, possibly a bit swollen around where head is but hard to tell. He Can't retract his foreskin yet - is this OK? Only a tiny bit at the end?
He didn't like me to touch it, but seems that is what hurts at the position where the head is under the foreskin, if you see what I mean. I watched him pee in the toilet, seemed perfectly normal, he said it didn't hurt, so I don't think a urine infection. He says he doesnt think he's bumped or caught it anywhere! Any thoughts? If he's still complaining tomorrow I guess we're off to the Dr!

We had similar with ds (6) last year and ended up at the gp, he gave us some antibiotic cream to put on the end twice a day and it cleared up very quickly. He also advised getting ds to retract the foreskin as much as he could in the bath.

Hope your ds isn't too sore :)

Balanitis, common in young lads. Growing and bits falling a bit behind. Just keep clean and go to docs if feverish.
