Hello. My nephew was born on 20/12 and on his routine eye test they noticed he had cataracts. Today i went with my db and sil to the eye infirmary (i was the driver) and the poor thing has to have an operation at the end of the month to remove them. One eye is worse than the other as the cataract is flat rather than curved and the surgeon says hes not sure if that one will ever be "good" but is confident the other one will be ok.
I was just wondering if anyone has had experience in this? How your child coped with it all etc. Obviously my db and sil are very worried, but thd surgeon thinks if this is not done now, he might go blind as the light is not getting to the brain.
Thanks
