Is blurred vision a common symptom of a high temp?

DS has had a high temp and been generally unwell all day, slept lots. He now says he has double vision, however seems slightly less sleepy.
Googling is a bad idea i know!

Not true double vision. The eyesight can get a bit hazy and blurry if the eyes are watery and sore.

Maybe he has a slight squint (lazy eye) that wanders imperceptibly when feverish and tired. My eye used to do this when I was really tired!

Is his temperature responding to calpol and/or ibuprofen, does he feel sick at all, does he have a headache? Is he sensitive to light? What about bending his neck down to look at his feet, is that uncomfortable?

If he has been very sleepy then trust your instinct if you are worried and call the OOH GP for advice.

Thankyou both, i checked all those things you mentioned and all ok. He is fast asleep now and comfortable, will see what tonight brings. Temp is responding to calpol and ibuprofen, the double vision seemed a strange thing, especially as he is only 6 so is quite literal in his descriptions, 'if i look through both eyes there are two of things, if i close one, there is just one'
Thankyou both again. Thanks
