Are humidifiers the answer?

Ds1 (6) is massively snuffly at night and struggles to breathe through his blocked nose. It's not sleep apnoea or anything like that but it disturbs his sleep half the night (and mine).

He's had colds but not at the moment. His tonsils are fine but no idea about adenoids. Nose not runny but inevitably in the morning he evacuates huge crusty bogies! (Apologies) it's no wonder he can't breathe and doesn't seem to mouth breathe for some reason.

I'm thinking central heating at home and school and maybe a humidifier would help? Has anyone had any use from these? If some which one is good?

Any other suggestions?
