Vicks for children

2.4 year old has a chest infection. Can we use vicks to help her breathe/stop coughing and generally help her feel better? There seems to be so much conflicting advice. Do any of you have experience of using it and it being ok or not?

I haven't used Vicks but I have seen on here to put it on the soles of small children's feet rather than on their chest. What does it say on the label? I've used the Olbas Oil kids version.

vicks is ok from age 2

have a look if it contains camphor (sp?) which is not advised for small children.
there are suitable ones for children available and they help a little bit.

It's okay run it on the back of her neck top of her back

Rub it on her feet if you want them greasy as it does absolutely nothing for them if you rub it there Grin it's needs to be somewhere she can inhale like on the inside of a pillow case/inside the top of a duvet cover
