Dd is 2 and has had a cough for 2 weeks keeping her awake at night and huge amounts of dribble. Today she come home from nursery and her lips looked red, with a few raised spots around the sides, looks a little sore. Inside her mouth she has about 6 tiny pin prick size dots that almost look like blood dots. A rash under the skin not raised, inside her nappy area and a couple of the same time spots on her fingers but very faint.
She kept crying and choking eating an apple this evening which isn't normal for her. She has already woken 3 times since 6.45 pm crying, coughing and really upset. Any ideas?

Just been through this with my 2 year old. Turned out it was hand foot and mouth. Started with waking up with high temperature by midday small spots that turned into blisters around mouth and then blisters inside mouth with loads of drooling. Then after a day or so only the odd blister on hand.

Oh poor little mite, sounds like hand foot and mouth. If it is the spots will increase in amount quite quickly. See the gp in the morning if u can, just to be sure. She may have a temp too, have u given calpol? My little boy had this when he was 1, he picked it up at childcare. It's very common in nursery etc. it's pretty grim to be honest.
