reflux in 8 year old

HI my 8 yr old ds has just been diagnosed with acid refulx by great ormond street ( other gastro and respitory probs) He is on gavison and lansoprazole He is being sick every night so school wont let him in and he is crying saying his throat and chest is hurting. He is waiting for a ph study to be done but does anyone know anything that can help until then ?

Avoid dairy & tomato foods, raise the head of the bed.

My ds 16 has this , he isn't so bad that he missed school.

Hope they have a solution soon
