Hi
My 5 year old daughter has been wearing strong prescription glasses for her right eye for 9 months now after complaining of seeing coloured dots.each time the prescription was increased but at our last appointment I was told they hadn't made much of an improvement at all. He could not detect a squint which he said was 'strange' (but didn't say why it was!) so she has been referred to a consultant at the hospital.

What I'm wondering is what can I expect now? I have read they can use patches for a squint, but he says she doesn't have one. But he hasn't said what else it could be were looking for or what treatment might be? Has anyone else experienced something similar? I just feel completely clueless at the moment!

Thank you!

Patching also works when there isn't a squint, you patch the good eye which forces the lazy side of the brain to start using the weaker eye. If you stick at it, several hours a day, her weak eye will improve dramatically in only a matter of months!
